Traffic Free Directions – how to get around via back roads and the Trolley

Avoid the Traffic With Our
Back Roads Get-around

While at the hotel > just park the car and use the Trolley
At the hotel, the Trolley (50 cents a ride) stops right out front and will take you up and down the Parkway with transfers to Patriots’ Park at the Old Mill stop for Dollywood and Gatlinburg (75 cents). They run about every 30 minutes.

From West of Knoxville from 1-40

– avoiding Traffic back-ups at the Sevierville/Pigeon Forge Exit and then coming into Sevierville and Pigeon Forge

Do not go into Knoxville on I-40, but rather . . .
Take the I-140 exit #376 to merge onto I-140 E toward Maryville > 11.5 mi
Take exit 11B to merge onto TN-115 N/US-129 N toward Knoxville >3.7 mi
Take the Tennessee 168 E exit
Follow TN-168 E to US-441 S > 6.8 mi
Turn left onto US-441 S > 14 mi (approx.)
You will be turning right just after you pass a BP Station and then a Lumberjack Feud Billboard on the left
Right on small road coming in from right – Pleasantville Rd
(If you miss it, take the next right on Whites School Rd and join directions further down)
To stop sign slight right continuing now on White School Rd
First left onto River Divide Rd.
Turn right onto Pleasant Hill Rd . 0.5 mi
Slight right onto Whites School Rd . 381 ft
Turn left onto River Divide Rd > 3.3 mi
Turn left onto Henderson Rd > 0.2 mi
Turn right onto Henderson Chapel Rd 0.7 mi, curve around to left to dead end
Turn right onto US-441 S/Parkway
Pass the Island Drive light and continue 2/10th of a mile, see our sign (Arbors) on the left – go two left turn access points beyond us so that it is easy to merge across the traffic (rather than driving straight across).

From the East via I-40
– avoiding Traffic back-ups at the Seveierville/Pigeon Forge Exit and then coming into Sevierville and Pigeon Forge

Take Exit 432 A – Newport Exit heading to Sevierville
Merge onto Highway 411/US 70 > 0.4 mi
Turn left (Dollar store on left at turn) onto TN-35 S/US-411 S. This is easy to miss amidst construction. > 18.5 mi
Turn left onto Veterans Blvd > 5.6 mi
Turn right onto Teaster Ln > 1 mi
Turn left at first light onto Jake Thomas Blvd (at Le Conte Center) > .2 mi
Turn right at first light onto the Parkway > .6 mi
Turn into us on the right at 2809 Parkway > Arbors at Island Landing

From the East  –from Cherokee – via Smokies National Park
There is not much we can do to help with traffic on this route; please ensure that the road is open in the winter before you start out. Snow and ice can close it.

Head north on US-441> N – Entering Tennessee > 32.8 mi
Slight left onto Gatlinburg Bypass > 3.6 mi
Keep left at the fork, follow signs for Pigeon Forge/Knoxville and merge onto TN-73 W/US-321 S/US-441 N/Parkway.> 6.8 mi
We are on the right > 2809 Parkway, Arbors at Island Landing

From the North – I-81 – traveling on I-81
– avoiding Traffic back-ups at the Seveierville/Pigeon Forge Exit and then coming into Sevierville and Pigeon Forge

Off I-81 do something counterintuitive – take the I-40 Exit toward Ashville
Take the Newport Exit 432 A
Merge onto Highway 411/US 70 > 0.4 mi
Turn left (Dollar store on left at turn) onto TN-35 S/US-411 S. This is easy to miss amidst construction. > 18.5 mi
Turn left onto Veterans Blvd > 5.6 mi
Turn right onto Teaster Ln > 1 mi
Turn left at first light onto Jake Thomas Blvd (at Le Conte Center) > .2 mi
Turn right at first light onto the Parkway > .6 mi

From the hotel to Sevierville and I-40/I-81 north and I-40 east
– avoiding traffic going toward I-40 from Pigeon Forge to Sevierville but then joing that traffic

Go out to the front parking and driving area – not the actual road.
Turn right along the parking area roadway . . . please drive slowly and take especial care of the pedestrians.
At Island Drive dead end, turn right to go to the Island, cross the bridge and keep right to go toward Le Conte Center and Parking.
Drive all the way to the end, where you will see the LeConte,
Turn left to go out to Teaster Lane.
Right on Teaster
To dead end, which is Veterans Blvd.
Left on Veterans > 5.6 mi
Continue to dead end and turn left on Dolly Parton Parkway. – TN 35/ US 411N > 18.5
At dead end turn right onto US 411/US 70 >.3mi

Left on Veterans and follow signs to Dollywood, which is just off Veterans’ on the right
For Sevierville, continue along Veterans > 5.6 mi to dead end and turn left on Dolly Parton Parkway.
Sevierville is just ahead and also you can pick up 66/338 that will take you out to I-40.

From the hotel to Gatlinburg East side
– for the west side go this way and turn back into Gatlinburg – a right turn.

We include two alternates as well.
