October 5th-22th, 2017 over 180 of the finest craftspeople from all over the United States demonstrate their skill, answer questions and offer their unique art for sale.   There’s even free live country and bluegrass music at the event: Performing at 12 p.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. each day. The fair is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, except for Sunday, which is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission for adults is $7; children 12 and under are admitted free. The Gatlinburg Convention Center is located at Traffic Light #8 in downtown Gatlinburg.

In all, Mickey Gilley has achieved a remarkable 39 Top-Ten country hits, with 17 of those songs reaching the No. 1 spot on the country charts. In 1976, he swept the ACM Awards, hauling home trophies for Entertainer of the Year, Top Male Vocalist, Song of the Year, Single of the Year and Album of the Year. The landmark Texas nightclub he helped create in 1971 is another example of Mickey’s success. Gilley’s Club was the sensation of the era: the “world’s largest honky-tonk.” It was a launching pad for some of country music’s biggest stars and the dominating force behind the “Urban Cowboy” craze that swept the country in the early ’80s, following the release of the John Travolta movie filmed in the Pasadena, Texas, nightclub. Johnny Lee was asked to perform in the film, Urban Cowboy, which starred John Travolta and Deborah Winger, and for which he also recorded several songs used in the soundtrack. “Lookin’ For Love”, from that same soundtrack, became Lee’s first Gold Record. Some of the vendors will have some fun displays and interactive elements for you and the family to enjoy too! The 2017 Smoky Mountain Fall Festival will take place October 28th in Townsend TN. We will have food, vendors, games, hay rides and more. We will be having an antique tractor show with many tractors on display! The event will be free, there will be a charge for parking. (Vendors and show participants parking free). There will be a Halloween costume contest for children and we encourage vendors and show participants to bring candy for the kids to do a trunk or treat style event! A fantastic family Halloween day event from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. Fun for visiting guests and local residents – contests, costumed characters, candy and a pumpkin contest plus trick or treat safety from the Gatlinburg Police Department and fire safety from the Gatlinburg Fire Department. Annual Trick or Treat Kickoff Karnival will be held October 31 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. Contests, costumed characters, games, food vendors and lots of candy will help make an unforgettable event for resident and visitors of all ages.

Join us this year at the 2nd Annual Sheriff’s Halloween Spooktacular Block Party! Time: 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm Location: Sevier County Sheriff’s Office MAIN JAIL (Downtown Sevierville) This Halloween, Sheriff Ron Seals would like to offer a free and safe environment for the youth of Sevier County to spend their Halloween night. This years Spooktacular Block Party will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 6:00pm-10:00pm in Downtown Sevierville at our Main Jail Facility. This “Spooktacular”, provided by Sevier County Sheriff’s Office is offered at no cost for Sevier County residents to attend with their entire families. Children will have the opportunity to trick or treat with local fire, police, ems, and other government agencies that work within Sevier County.
