Under new management, new owners and a new attitude.

Dollywood Ride the trolley from our hotel to this world-class family theme park and water park.
Ripleys Believe It Or Not 8 attractions in Gatlinburg, just 15 minutes away.

Where does our hotel fit in among all the hotels in Pigeon Forge? Good question - we were just recently, in November 2014, bought by new owners, we got a new name and a new passion all at once. From 1988 to 2014 we were called Smoky Meadows Lodge. Now with our NEW attitude we are calling ourselves Arbors at Island Landing. And that name tells our story as to what we will become over the coming year as we set about creating "heartland Tennessee" at our hotel that sits right on the Little Pigeon River.
Our story is in our name: an acre of brook side trees right next to the Island.
Pigeon Forge Hotels for Family Memories
Here we will be creating memories - using gardens, a vegetable garden, horseshoes, Frisbee golf, a fire-pit and sing-alongs, arbors, a gazebo for snoozing or doing the opposite - getting married. We will be doing bluegrass on brook-side grass.
That will be Arbors, one the best hotels in Pigeon Forge - out of that one hundred plus hotels.
The renovations of Pigeon Forge motels are on-going. Ours has started: we have all new paint, all new beds - all pillow-top, 32 inch flat screen TVs, and the Jr. Suites are all dressed up with luxury duvets, new furnishings, and new artwork - prints of the forest, streams, and fishing. The gas fireplaces in the motel suites - 20 of them - have all been rebuilt. We have a renovated elevator cab. Coming is new WiFi (with hundreds of connections), a new deluxe room type with double queen beds, and new exterior paint job (when the spring and warm temperatures come.)
--all good above here
Here in Pigeon Forge the affordable motels are all lined up by brand - Best Western, Quality Inn, Sleep Inn, Rodeway, La Quinta, Red Roof Inn, Comfort Suites, Days Inn, Baymont, Econolodge, Mainstay - they are all here. They are all "affordable", yet when you look, it is the independent motels that are most affordable as they do not have to pay franchise fees that typically deprive the motel of 12% of its revenue. This is money, of course, that is made up by the rates they must charge their guests.
Then we have the independent motels in Pigeon Forge - perhaps another fifty - spread out along the main highway. Our difference, here at Arbors at Island Landing (previously known as Smoky Meadows Lodge) is that we are a resort motel and are located just one block from the Island Pigeon Forge.
Here our guests are in the heart of Pigeon Forge and are able to walk to many attractions (and take the trolley to the others). Also, here - under our trees, by our brook, listening to a sing-along, kids playing the games room, great breakfasts at the pancake house, fishing in the brook, walking down to the town square as a family - are opportunities to make memories. Most of the Pigeon Forge motels give their guests a room, but here we are the only one of the Pigeon Forge motels that will be able to give its guests a creekside resort experience that creates memories, fresh family memories - forged of peace and smiles. This is what we want our guest to experience - heartland Tennessse.
There are several suites hotels here in Pigeon Forge and we at Arbors at Island Landing are one of them with 20 fireplace family suites, one family super suite ( 3 rooms), one plus suite (2 rooms) and one double suite (2 rooms).
Many of the Pigeon Forge suites hotels have excellent options, some with large condos that are rented for the night. Simlarly for time shares.
have 32 inch flat panel TVs, pillow top mattresses and some of the most affordable suite rates in town.
Most of our branded hotel suites here in Pigeon Forge (and most other towns) are just larger rooms but at the Arbors our Pigeon Forge family friendly suites are double sized hotel rooms.
Our basic Jr Suite with stone surround fireplace and Jacuzzi tub are double sized and all one big room so Mom and Dad can be right there with the kids (we hope that is a GOOD thing!). With a fireplace to warm in fall and winter and shared "corridor" balcony - these make value - affordable suites in Pigeon Forge.
Our line up of family suites includes:
In just one year, the Island of Pigeon Forge has become Pigeon Forges town square. Our hotel is just one block away from the Island; we are now an affordable hotel near the Island. Here we have a fresh line-up of restaurants- family themed and Margaritaville bar and restaurant, rides, the giant Ferris wheel, the dancing fountains, the candy and tee shirt shops.
From our hotel, the family, the children, can walk safely that one block out and back to the Island while family budget stays intact with our affordably priced value hotel. From our brookside frontage, you can look across the brook and down 100 yards to the Island and the performance deck of Margartavile - thats how close our hotel is to the Island.
The core of the Island is Margaritaville and Margaritaville Island Hotel - from which we are one block walk, so one could think of us as a Margaritaville hotel, yet one that is affordable. We are the low cost alternative to the Island Margaritaville hotel (have a look at it here - http://www.margaritavilleislandhotel.com/. When their rates are at $159, we are at $44 for a Double Queen room or $59 for our Jr. Suite. Are we as luxurious? No. Do we have a Margarita Ice machine, blender and maker? No.
Do we have a pancake breakfast at Reagans House of Pancakes?
Yes. So, we are the affordable hotel near Margaritaville in Pigeon Forge.
Take a moment to read our recent reviews, since we started work on the hotel with new management and new cleanliness, now with pillow top mattresses and now 32 inch flat screen TVs. Todays date is February 13, 2015 and you will be able to see all the reviews up to this date.
Are we one of the best Tripadvisor hotels in Pigeon Forge? - not yet, but we will be. Give us a year to get the renovation done and we will be an affordable resort for Pigeon Forge.
Here are samples of our reviews in Tripadvisor since May, when the hotel re-opened and started to chart a course to one of Tripadvisors best Pigeon Forge hotels.
"Not enough words for excellence!" 5 of 5 stars Reviewed Feb 26,2014
I have stayed in many places throughout my lifetime, and I have to say this one has by far been the best experience Our family or I have ever had! The staff is unbelievably accommodating to almost every need you may have. We received a breakfast voucher for our entire family of five to the pancake house across the street for every morning of our stay. The room was incredibly clean and I have high expectations in this area, believe me they were more than met. Though they are in the midst of renovations it did not affect our stay one bit. It was very quiet even being right on the parkway. I just cannot say enough words on how wonderful the people are there! We were very blessed to have found such a gem! I thank ALL of the staff for EVERYTHING throughout our stay, especially Jerry, Deana, and Jay! We will absolutely be back, and will not stay anywhere else from here on out! You have gained loyals! Thank you again for all of what you do, and God bless each and every one of you! I have no complaints of any kind, as it was no less than almost perfect, and the price couldnt be beat!

"Will be back" Reviewed August 2, 2014
We are the Ewing Family. We came into Pigeon Forge on a Thursday night without a reservation. Drove up and down the parkway, on both sides, trying to find a Pigeon Forge hotel that wasnt gonna cost and arm and a leg to stay 2 nights. In and out of places that were charging $100 a night or more for a room. Then we came to Smoky Meadows Lodge and it was a blessing. The front desk clerk was very professional and sweet. The clerk also told us about things to do and see in the area. She recommended a great tattoo studio for my daughter to get her first tattoo as well. She gave us a great rate, that we could afford, and the hotel was very clean. We will return and speak good things to friends and family about this establishment. Thank you so much for everything. Awesome Place To Stay in Pigeon Forge Motels, Reviewed July 25, 2014
If there were a great Pigeon Forge hotel to stay in on a trip to Pigeon Forge, Tn., it would have to be Smoky Meadows Lodge. It is a very clean place and the staff, being friendly and courteous makes the trip worthwhile. I visit Tennessee at least once a year and have stayed in numerous hotels and inns. But none compares to the value and quality of the Smoky Meadows Lodge. Stayed July 2014, traveled as a couple. Kenny P, Greenup KT
